Policy & Practice Audit and Systems Change Planning

Systems change can be defined as an approach to organizational culture that addresses policies, processes and practices within and across organizations that increase access to resources, inclusion in decision-making, and improves overall organizational health. Understanding that systems act exactly as they are designedto, a system’s change framework not only provides significant ideas for why, where and how systems change can be explored, but also offers a great opportunity for review, reflection and reform. CFEI co-designs systems change by working with leadership and staff to:

  1. Identify policies, practices and processes that reinforce rather than resolve inequities in the organization
  2. Collaborate and design a systems change framework that advances equity and inclusion
  3. Establish a high level implementation and accountability plan to achieve desired change
  4. Gauge progress on the plan and provide tools for self-auditing and sustaining the plan at all levels of the organization
