Christine Smith

Christine supports the Lab in engagement, convening, and facilitation and has consulted with organizations for over a decade in shaping authentic equity solutions. She is an expert in the impacts of historical trauma, is a certified Adverse Childhood Experiences trainer, and is trained in multiple facilitation modalities. Christine serves as co-convener for the Mill City Kids Initiative and is involved in multiple initiatives related to systemic racism and adverse childhood experiences. She founded a grassroots volunteer organization, Metro Talking Circle, that provided strategic direction on equity to the City of Minneapolis. Christine has worked at The Minnesota Department of Human Services leading disparities reduction efforts that impact communities experiencing employment inequities and the Minnesota Department of Health (MDH) as the Health Equity and Tribal Grants Supervisor for the Office of Statewide Health Improvement Initiative. Christine is currently applying her equity and systems change work at People Serving People where she is Senior Program Director. Christine holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Organizational Communication, a Master of Arts degree in Family Life Education, and is currently pursuing a Master of Science degree and licensure in Co-Occurring disorders.
